1 - BELEŞEverybody likes free stuff, right? Whenever something is free, the slang word to use is "Beleş". 2 - KIRO"Kıro" is a person who does not know any good manners and acts in a vulgar way. His appearance may even be somehow humorous! 3 - MATRAKWhen something fun or amusing is going on, you can call that thing "Matrak". Turkish people really like "Matrak" stuff. 4 - İNEKHere comes the nerds! The Turkish slang word for nerd is "İnek". They generally get the highest grades and have the best class notes... It is good to have one as a close friend! 5 - ENAYİ / KERİZ"Enayi" and "Keriz" more or less mean the same thing. When somebody is foolish and easy to deceive, you can use these two slang words. Nevertheless, keep in mind that nobody likes to be called in this way. 6 - SAZANThis slang word refers to a person who is easily influenced and believes in what you tell very fast. Even though the story might sound unbelievable or fishy, a "sazan" person can jump right into it! In fact, "sazan" is the name of a fish which lives in Turkish sea region. 7 - ÇAKAL"Çakal" is said to a person who is good at tricking people in a very smart way. The literal definition of "çakal" is a coyote. So you can tell the nature of the person who gets this slang word! 8 - KOKOŞThis slang word is used for a lady who cares about her looks and style too much. She generally spends a lot of time and effort to catch the perfect look to deserve the nickname "Kokoş". 9 - DANDİKWho likes "poor-quality" stuff? Of course, nobody! When you shop and do not like the quality of the item, you can say it looks very "dandik". 10 - RACONThis slang word refers to "generally accepted way of doing things on a certain subject". Remember that this word is informal. It is not appropriate to use it for formal or business related matters. It is good to know as many slang words as possible if you want to immerse yourself in Turkish as soon as possible!
